Tongue Piercing
During the first 3 hours avoid eating, drinking alcohol and smoking. Gargle with mouthwash and drink lots of water. Healing will take 5-10 days during which time you must avoid beer, alcohol and snacks or sweets between main meals. Intimate oral activities should be avoided. Brush your teeth after each meal. During the first 3 days you may experience difficulties in speaking, chewing and swallowing as the tongue will be somewhat swollen. Ice cubes are helpful to keep the swelling down.
Naval Piercing
Clean and disinfect daily and turn ring from one end to the other. Scabs that form on either end of the piercing should be left alone. Avoid saunas, solarium, swimming and bathing as the tissue may swell and soften (Danger of infection). Do not wear a belt or tight fitting clothing over the navel till the piercing is completely healed. On sitting down the waist band should be loosened to reduce pressure on the tissue.
